Introduction
Zanni is a showwoman and performer who died in Italy in the mid 1900s. She now roams as a ghost, planning to revive the art of old entertainment. She is a theatre kid with no respect for morals or societal conventions.
Zanni won't rest until she hosts the grandest show the mortal world has ever seen, and no amount of broken ethics will stop her from getting what she wants. Everything is on the table for the grand performance!

"You can stab me in the back and burn down my stage for all I care, all is simply part of life's grand performance. The first act may be over but I hear the cries and whistles ringing in my ears! Everyday they grow louder and louder and LOUDER. They are cheering for my second act, hahaha!"

Powers and Abilities
After becoming a ghost she acquired supernatural powers. Aside from generic ghost abilities she also gained transmutation, where she can swap body parts between two hosts. After learning this she adopted rabbit features, as she admires the little creatures very much for their persistence to live despite all odds stacked against them.
Story
Zanni was initially a loyal servant of Pantalone who obeyed every instruction without a second thought for her own safety. Being consumed by fame and greed, Pantalone kept pushing her to perform more and more dangerous acts to keep the audience engaged. At some point Zanni lost her sense of self and became spontaneous and erratic. She grew tired of being treated like a circus animal and set the troupe ablaze, reducing the entire troupe to ash in the process.
Though behind the magician's ruse was a hint of something spectacular. Real magic had haunted the troupe for generations and offered second chances to those with a big enough desire. Donned with new attire and a purpose, Zanni rose from the ash and left to entertain unfinished business. Now possessed with strange magic and immeasurable power, she has not once looked back on her original self.
Artist Statement / Trivia
- Zanni is inspired by a stock character from Commedia dell'arte. They are typically portrayed as tricksters or servants who fill a similar niche as jesters and clowns.
- Despite the poor position zanni are known to possess, I designed her with the appearance of a showman in mind to reflect how she has taken back control of her own life and now pulls the strings.
- Inspiration: Hanako, Sparkle, The Greatest Showman.
